Sacraments

The Sacraments are efficacious signs of grace instituted and given to the Church by Jesus Christ.  We receive grace when we participate in the life of God.  The Sacrament of Baptism places an indelible mark on the soul.  You become an adopted child of God.  For Baptism to be licit, it must have correct form.  The substance of water along with the pouring over with infusion or entering the water with immersion.  The Trinitarian Formula must be used to make the Baptism valid.

Bishop Olmstead has restored the ancient order of receiving the Sacraments in the Diocese of Phoenix.  From earliest times the church has practiced Chrismation immediately following Baptism.  Therefore, Restored Order is quickly becoming a growing trend in our Church today.  Confirmation becomes the Sacrament that completes and seals Baptism.  With Confirmation and the First Eucharist the Elect become fully initiated in the Roman Catholic Church.  The CCC tells us that at the Last Supper Jesus instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of his Body and Blood to perpetuate the sacrifice on Calvary until he comes again.  The Church is entrusted to celebrate a memorial of his death and resurrection, a sacrament of love, a sign of unity, a bond of charity; a Paschal banquet in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a promise of future glory is given to us.  (CCC,1323)

(CCC,1323)
